SAHLA Angels

Membership 

Memberships fall into the following categories:

  • Hotel properties
  • Bed & Breakfast Inns
  • Allied Members - a company providing products or services to hoteliers and the hospitality industry
  • Individual Hotel Members - hotel owners or individual member of upper hotel management
  • Student Members - college level student currently enrolled in a hospitality related degree path
  • Honorary members - representing educational, industry and media institutions*
  • Ex-Officio members - hospitality organizations within in the community*

*Annually selected by majority vote of the Board of Directors

Annual Dues structure (based on a calendar year beginning January 1)

Hotels - based on rentable units

 

49 rooms or less - $75 minimum
Bed & Breakfast Inns - $75
Small luxury hotels or resorts - $250
50 - 99 rooms @ $2 per unit
100 - 199 rooms @ $2.50 per unit
200 - 299 rooms @ $3 per unit
300 room and up @ $3.50 per unit

 

Allied Member Companies $300.00
(Requires a recommendation from a hotel member in good standing)

Individual Hotel members - $150
(This type of membership applies to corporate level and regional personnel who do not manage one property.
Anyone in management who works for a member hotel is automatically included in any and all of SAHLA activities
through their company's membership.)
 

Student membership - $25
(one-time charge - membership valid as long as the student remains in a hospitality related course of study)

Honorary and Ex-Officio memberships - no fee

Exceptions:
Hotels joining while under construction will pay 1/2 the normal rate for the first year of membership.
Allied members joining between July and December will pay 1/2 the annual rate.  The same rule applies to hotels; however a minmum fee of $75 will always be required.
 

Additional fees:
Current price for our monthly luncheons: $25 per person (members and first-
guests).
  Those who come to the luncheons without making a reservation or guests attending for the seond time:  $35
  Any guest attending three luncheons without joining SAHLA will be charged $50 per person.  A benefit of our
  membership is the networking enjoyed at our luncheons; to continue to attend as a guest is a disservice to those
 
  who have paid for a membership in SAHLA.

Training classes can run from a high of $25 per person (or property) to no charge at all!
Educational fund-raisers are individually priced and can vary from year to year.

The Association is an incorporated non-profit trade organization with a 501 C-6 classification with the federal government. We are subject to state sales tax. Our federal ID is # 74-0879143.
